Audition Information

Fully completed and submitted application along with video submissions.
Percussion is an in-person audition only (see guidelines below). 

INSTRUMENTAL GUIDELINES: Piano, Guitar, Brass, Woodwinds, and Strings

  • Each applicant will perform two (2) contrasting pieces or movements that are representative of technical ability (one must be in a SLOW tempo AND one must be in a LIVELY tempo - max 2 minutes per piece)
  • Introduce yourself with your full name and provide the title, composer/author, and any other relevant information about the piece you will be performing (max 30 second intro).
  • Your face and body should be clearly seen. No one else should be in the video.
  • No other instruments or pre-recorded tracks should accompany your piece.​
  • Record song in a single take from start to finish. Do not edit tracks/videos together. ​
  • Each piece will be recorded separately and uploaded on the application online platform.
  • Acceptable file format: MP4, AVI, and MOV. Each file has a maximum file size of 1 GB. We recommend you capture your video in 4k or less to avoid going over the size limit.

Callbacks will be held in person in February 2026.

During the callbacks, applicants will be asked to:

  • Applicants will perform the same pieces of music submitted in video submissions
  • Applicants will perform scales on their instrument 
  • Applicants will demonstrate sight reading
  • Additional specific instrument requirements (to be shared with callback applicants)
  • Applicants will have a brief interview following their audition.

PERCUSSION GUIDELINES - Will be held in-person in February 2026; no video submission.  Percussion applicants must show technical ability and proficiency in mallets, snare drum, and timpani.
